Regular Shares (Savings)This is a basic savings account that earns dividends. It is called a share account because it represents your share in the credit union. Auxiliary Account (Savings)It works just like your share account. It is a savings within a savings. Individual Retirement AccountsTraditionalSave for your future now, by opening an IRA. Your investment and dividends earned can be tax deferred until you withdraw which is usually after you retire, when your tax bracket may be lower. RothIf you plan to be at a higher tax bracket at retirement you may want to invest now and your withdrawals will be tax-free! (if certain requirements are met) EducationInvest in your child's future. Withdrawals are tax-free & penalty-free if used toward higher education expenses before the child is age 30. Certificates of DepositCertificates of Deposit (CD) from West Texas Credit Union provide members with the opportunity to lock-in a fixed rate of return for a specified length of time. With CDs, you are guaranteed the competitive interest rate for the full term of the CD. Certificates of Deposit require a minimum of $1,000 to open. Terms range from 6 months to five years. Early withdrawal penalties apply. We offer term certificates that either pay our high competitive dividends at term or on a monthly basis (to the regular share account). Money Market AccountsA money market account is an account where you deposit funds and earn a dividend rate that is higher than the rate paid on regular Share Savings Accounts. Unlike CD's, your money is not locked into a fixed term. Christmas ClubThis account will help you save now and be worry-free come the holiday season. Withdrawal restrictions apply. Junior Savers ClubTeach your child to have an interest in saving while their savings earn interest. |
